INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS

We accept on a rolling basis original manuscripts in Russian and English that have not previously been published and are not concurrently under consideration by another journal. Submissions in German or French are also possible.

The journal “Tractus Aevorum: the evolution of socio-cultural and political spaces” is biannual: it comes out in April and December. Starting from 2019, the journal articles and other materials are published on the website when ready (date of publication can be found in the end of the article) in order to provide fast and effective access to the journal content. The materials of the first issue are published from April to June, the materials of the second issue - from October to December. Due to support of the Belgorod National Research University, there is no submission/publication fee.

The journal publishes research articles, review essays, book reviews, information about relevant scholarly events (e.g. conference reports) and research projects. All research materials undergo double blind peer-review, other manuscripts are subject to editorial review.

There can be thematic issues which are announced in advance on the journal website.

Articles should not exceed 65,000 characters (including spaces). This character count should include the following: title; author(s), affiliation and contact information (postal address, phone number, e-mail); 7-10 line abstract in English (the editorial team will translate it into Russian); 5-7 keywords; main text with references; optional appendices with any necessary tables, pictures, or graphs.

Review essays (up to 25,000 characters), book reviews (up to 12,000 characters) and research project reports (up to 30,000 characters) should also include: affiliation and contact information of the author(s) (postal address, phone number, e-mail); 5-10 line abstract in English (the editorial team will translate it into Russian); 5-7 keywords.

Conference reports or similar pieces should include information about the author(s) (full name, affiliation, postal address, phone number, e-mail).

Please give your name as you want it appear in print.

Submissions must be formatted as an MS Word DOC file.

If you transliterate (for example, a title of a book published in Russian), use the Library of Congress rules. There is a convenient transliteration service available on the website www.translit.net.

References should follow the Chicago citation style (Author-Date). Quick guide can be found here.

Use footnotes to provide explanations to the text, acknowledgements or to cite archival sources.
